Who doesn’t want to go to Paris and live their dream life? Everyone, of course! And it seems, Emily Cooper was presented with the lucky opportunity to do exactly that! As we all watch Emily stumble into her new life with friends and various lovers, we are honestly a little thankful to not be in the same situation as her, especially in the embarrassing moments. After all, it’s part of the reason why the show is so entertaining too.
Now that we have seen 2 seasons of the show, we are all waiting on the third one! And while we are waiting, why not start a new show in the meantime? This is why we have put together a list of shows so you can choose what you want to watch according to your preferences. Oh, and before you dive into the list, it’s the right time to talk about the internet connection.
In order to enhance your streaming experience, you should commit to a few rules regarding internet connection. Try to always look for a reliable connection service provider with multiple good reviews for its services. For example, if you’re selecting Wave, look at the customer ratings and reviews for Wave internet, Wave TV, and Wave phone service. This will help you get a better idea of the provider in question.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the best TV shows you can watch while waiting for Emily in Paris’s Season 3.
Call My Agent
Call My Agent is a show revolving around four Parisian talent agents working at a talent agency in France. As agents, they have to manage their clients’ lives and schedules all while struggling to keep their personal lives away from their professional lives. Things are not looking up for either of them and that becomes apparent when the founder of the company passes away suddenly. This complicates things further since they need to keep the company afloat now too.
Many real celebrities have also made an appearance on the show, playing exaggerated versions of themselves. This makes the show funnier and more enjoyable on any given day! It is definitely more different from the classic and somewhat typical ‘American girl in the City of Love’.
Younger
Younger follows the story of Liza Miller, a 40-year-old woman, who decides to take time off work to raise her daughter and spend more time with the family. When she tries to get back to the publishing world, she has stopped short because of her age. So, to get back the job she wants, she lies about her age. As the show progresses, we see a range of love interests, powerful women in the industry, and more.
Younger is very much similar to Emily in Paris for its story. Of course, there is a difference in occupations and setting, but the overall plot of the show is very similar. This is why the show is such a fan favorite.
The Bold Type
The Bold Type is a comedy-drama that is focused on three women working at a fictional global magazine ‘Scarlet’. Jane, Kat, and Sutton are all struggling with different issues in their private lives like mental health, love, and so much more. As all three of them progress through work and life every day, they often seek each other out and help each other whenever needed. In regards to love, there is plenty of love and relationship drama to go around!
The show is inspired by the life and struggles of Joanna Coles, former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine. She is also the executive producer of this series. The show is quite similar to Emily in Paris, as Emily also struggles to progress in her career and more.
The Carrie Diaries
The Carrie Diaries is a prequel to Sex and the City. We get to see a teenage Carrie as she starts an internship in the big city, falls in love for the first time, and goes through heartbreak, and her personal family drama. The show is like a good coming-of-age tale, but unfortunately, it was discontinued after 2 seasons. The show definitely did not get as much hype as it deserved. The ending of the show was nicely done though and it doesn’t feel like it is incomplete.
The show isn’t very similar to Emily in Paris, but it is still a fun and comedic watch, especially if you like movies and TV shows with a coming-of-age concept.
Sweetbitter
Sweetbitter is like a darker version of ‘Emily in Paris’. The story follows Tess as she navigates her life and a new job as a waitress in the big city. As Tess performs her job, she makes friends and also finds the time to develop romantic relationships with her love interests. Besides that, Tess gets more than she bargained for when she trains at one of the city’s biggest restaurants.
The show, just like its name, is bitter-sweet and rings with some truth as well. The show is particularly interesting too because of this fact.
The Mindy Project
If you consider yourself a hopeless romantic, and one that loves a good enemies-to-lovers story too, then you need The Mindy Project on your ‘Shows to watch’ list! The story follows Dr. Mindy Lahiri, who is an OBGYN and obsessed with rom-coms. As she navigates through her professional life, she is also hoping to meet the love of her life. However, this doesn’t seem to be possible yet, as she is surrounded by weird co-workers and patients.
The show was created by Mindy Kaling and she also stars in it as Dr. Mindy Lahiri. The show itself is a rom-com and is quite entertaining for anyone, regardless of whether you like rom-coms or not!
