In 1982, Royal Caribbean launched the Song of America, the third largest ship at sea with a capacity of 1,500 passengers. With its fleet of luxurious ships on the water, the cruise line began to expand its land-based offerings. In 1986, the company leased coastal land in Haiti and today offers passengers an exclusive island experience on Labadee. Today, the company has seven ships in its fleet. This expansion is a sign of the company’s growing success.
The largest cruise ship ever launched by Royal Caribbean will feature eight distinct neighborhoods that feature signature shows and all-new features. Children can spend the day at Adventure Ocean, which opens on embarkation day. The ship’s two theaters, the Lyric Theater and the Studio B ice rink, will both feature different performances throughout the day. Shows in the Royal Theater will include welcome aboard shows, invitation to dance, and the popular Can’t Stop The Rock.

Originally transferred from Royal Caribbean subsidiary Admiral Cruises, this ship was the largest cruise ship in the world until it was sold to Pullmantur Cruises. Coco Cay and Labadee, both in the northern part of Haiti, are two of the company’s privately owned islands. The latter features pristine white sand beaches, while Labadee is located on the island’s northern coast. The company also has private island destinations in The Bahamas: Perfect Day at CocoCay, the first in a series of private island destinations.
